Allison Clan Terracio

Allison has received a teaching status of "Anusara-inspired
yoga teacher." Anusara Yoga is a system of hatha yoga
founded in 1997 by John Friend that integrates the Tantric
philosophy of intrinsic Goodness with Universal Principles
of Alignment.
Allison came to yoga through classes at her
gym and realized that she could get a full-body workout and
a massage all at the same time! She started out coming home
and showing her sweetie the cool things she did, and then
the focus shifted from what she was doing to what she heard
from her teachers about yoga 'off the mat.' When her friends
gently pointed out to her that all she talked about anymore
was yoga, she began to look for a studio to call home in New
York City and found Virayoga, an all-Anusara studio. She has
studied intensively with Certified Anusara teachers Lois Nesbitt
and Julie Dohrman, amongst many others, to whom she is eternally
grateful.
Allison is a native Kentuckian who attended
Centre College and studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
She brings a love of learning and a love of life to the mat
and is continually inspired by lessons from her teachers and
from her students.
Nate Terracio

Nate became a yogi and Allison's first student on the same
day. Since that day, Nate has found pincha mayurasana (forearm
stand) and putting his leg behind his head to be quite invigorating.
His other teachers include John Friend, Lois Nesbitt, and
Dana Lewis. When not practicing (and sometimes teaching) and
helping out with the Infinite Bliss website, Nate works with
the Aquila Theatre Company of New York.
Nate was raised in Columbia, South Carolina.
He attended the University of South Carolina where he received
a BS in Chemistry (Honors).
Catherine Graber
A couple of years ago, Catherine was measuring her children
and marking their heights on the kitchen door. Her son suggested
she measure herself, and she was astonished to find she had
grown from almost 5' 4" to nearly 5' 5". Always
an active person, Catherine could only think to attribute
this growth to her participation in a three times a week Pilates
practice under the direction of Debra Moore. More excited
than ever about the benefits of Pilates, Catherine earned
her certification to teach mat-based Pilates classes through
AAFA. Her growth theory was verified when several of her Pilates
students began to report these kinds of positive physical
changes.
No matter what your fitness level, you can enjoy the benefits
of strengthening and toning your muscles, increasing your
flexibility, and improving your posture. Pilates is the perfect
addition to a yoga practice. Focus is on the abdominal, lower
back, hip, and buttock muscles. Balance your body, reduce
stress, improve circulation, enhance endurance, look better
and feel great with a non-aerobic Pilates mat-based program.
Kyle Jackowitz
A dancer from the time she entered first
grade until she finished her second year in law school, moving
mindfully has always been a big part of Kyle's life. She 'discovered'
yoga in the 90's and new perspectives opened to her. She began
teaching in January, 2006 after having studied yoga for several
years in various gyms and studios. Her teaching is influenced
by her studies in Anusara, and by other styles she has practiced,
including Iyengar, Ashtanga and Bikram. She has to admit teaching
wasn't her idea: a teacher suggested she give it a try, and
now she's hooked. Kyle quickly realized she loves introducing
others to discover what yoga brings to them, and what they
bring to yoga.
Kyle's classes foster the mindful integration
of alignment, strength and flexibility, and are based on an
underlying celebration of who we are and who we can be, on
and off the mat.
Ashley-Brooke McGinty

Ashley-Brooke continues her yoga practice
as a certified instructor directly from the Nosara Yoga Insitiute
in Costa Rica having completed their Interdisciplary Hatha
Yoga Teaching Training. Under the supervision of Don and Amba
Stepleton, Ashley-Brooke learned that the gift of yoga is
in your breath (prana). True bliss can be reached through
yoga by allowing prana to flow freely. Students will be provided
with a sense of body awareness and connecting spiritually
with their inner self. In her class you will learn how to
relax and start letting your prana take your body to infinite
bliss!
Teresa Phelps
Teresa shares the gift of yoga with a playful
and compassionate touch. With an emphasis on the breath (prana)
and fluid motion (vinyasa), Teresa takes you on journey to
experience the full range of yoga. From the sweaty purification
of a dynamic and seamless flow to a calming, stress reducing,
therapeutic restorative practice, she helps you connect with
your inner beauty, peace, strength and grace. She has trained
with master teachers Shiva Rea, Judith Lasater, Angela Farmer,
Victor van Kooten, Anna Forest, Barbara Benagh and Don and
Amba Stapleton. She has been a practitioner for over 9 years
and continues to be a student of yoga. Her training, studies
and practice infuse her approach to living her yoga and embodying
the flow with grace – one moment at a time.
Kara Price

Kara is originally from
Evansville, IN and is excited to come back to the area with
her husband to be closer to family. While she was away, she
found a few passions: Pilates, Yoga and dancing. She’s
been dancing professionally for more than 15 years. Her dancing
brought her to Chicago, where she found Pilates and Yoga.
Kara took her first Yoga class while in Chicago. Her fellow
Pilates teacher told her to go to a level 2/3 Astanga class
because she was a dancer and flexible. Needless to say she
felt she was thrown into the ocean and then told to swim;
and swim she did. Yoga was something Kara knew she wanted
to delve more deeply into. She continued her yoga journey
and completed OM’s Joining Heaven and Earth teacher
training program in NYC.
Pilates came fairly easy to Kara because of her dance background.
However, Kara quickly found through teaching Pilates that
it is accessible to any and all people. Whether healthy, injured,
young, old, big or small, Pilates is an exercise technique
that anyone can master. Kara loved that and has continued
teaching Pilates for the past 9 years.
With each class Kara gives, whether Pilates or Yoga, she focuses
on alignment, breath and a sense of smile. She believes that
keeping a lighthearted approach will take you somewhere you
have never been—physically, mentally and/or spiritually.
